Lily

$25.00

Single-layer woodcut. 4 x 3 inches (Image) 7 x 5 inches (Sheet).

This original fine art print was created by hand carving a block of wood and inking, using oil-based ink with hand-set letterpress type added for the latin species name. 10 impressions were pulled at Grapheme studio in Seattle, WA.

COMMUNITY BOTANICALS

November - February 2020

I put out a call via instagram, facebook, and email to friends, acquaintances, and strangers to send me an image of a flower or plant that meant something to them. Each print came from a story. Ranging from ‘peonies make me smile’ to ‘Joey bought me a carnation on our first date when I was 16’. I enjoyed learning about each memory or feeling someone had associated with a botanical. I displayed them collectively in my solo exhibition, ‘Growing Vertically, Together’. Ironically, this was the last in-person exhibition I had before covid lock down in Seattle. Each card- sized print is made using a single block woodcut with letterpress hand-set type.

My goal is to send you an email once every 3-4 months. With so much constantly going on, this is the easiest way to stay up to date on what I'm up to, , including: exhibitions details; courses dates; vendor dates; Instagram sales; and maybe some pictures of my chickens.

Thank you!
